The only society
or club for Moldovan philately
that I am aware of is based in
Chisinau (Kishinev), the capital
of Moldova and is called
Asociata Filatelistilor,
Maximafilistilor si
Cartofilistilor din Republica
Moldova (AFMCRM).
The Association
is run by it's President and
founder, Mr Constantin Ciobanu,
a former Moldovan government
minister and probably the
world's leading expert in the
field of Moldovan philately.

Unfortunately,
Russian and Moldovan (Romanian)
are the only spoken languages,
so if you do not speak these
languages yourself, but would

The AFMCRM
organises stamp exhibitions and
issues a quarterly or
half-yearly magazine in Moldovan
"Meridian Filatelic" which is
filled with useful articles and
listings.

At a meeting of
the AFMCRM in September 2005,
were, pictured from left to
right; Niall Murphy (Editor of
MoldovaStamps), Dr Evgheni Brik,
Constantin Ciobanu (President)
and Police Major Vitalie
Parfentie.
The AFMCRM is
always delighted to receive new
members from anywhere in the
world. A nominal membership fee
is payable.
The
Association is also very keen to
foster relationships with other
philatelic clubs, societies and
associations around the world.
I can say from
my own personal experience, that
you will not find a more
friendly or welcoming group than
the AFMCRM.
